Gladys provides a wealth of support to the executive director, community liaison, and the board of directors. In addition, she is in charge of CLAC's financial oversight and works closely with the staff of Financial Management and Reporting at the Minnesota Department of Administration. Gladys also verifies payments and that goods and services have been received before the Executive Director authorizes payments. She ensures that all financial transactions are accurately documented, reported, and in accordance with state law, policies, and procedures. Gladys also provides backup support to the Executive Director and the Community Liaison. Moreover, she is CLAC's webmaster as she updates and maintains the website and she designs all desktop publishing for CLAC, including the !El Minnesotano! newsletter, the Bilingual Directory, all brochures and reports. Born in the capitol city of San Salvador in El Salvador, Gladys emigrated to Los Angeles as a child with her family before moving to St. Paul, Minnesota in 1992. She graduated from Sibley High School in neighboring Mendota Heights and studied principles of management at Inver Hills Community College in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. In 2000, Gladys received certification for the State of Minnesota's Materials Management Authority for Local Purchasing. She has also attended several trainings and seminars for graphic design and employee relations. In her spare time, Gladys loves to travel, spend time with her family, and go shopping.
