U.S. Census 2010 The Council has partnered with Hispanic Advocacy and Community Empowerment through Research (HACER) to provide 2010 census data about Latinos in Minnesota. Demographic data sets on this page include population characteristics for Latinos in Minnesota counties, cities and metropolitan areas. Also included are maps for different geographic areas. The Council and HACER are providing the following demographic maps and spreadsheets in the hopes that the data products published here will be used to provide solid data to support businesses, schools, communities and service providers throughout Minnesota. These Latino census data products were created from U.S. Census data – both the 2010 decennial Census and the 2010 American Community Survey. Work to create these profiles was underwritten by a grant from the Blandin Foundation. An ad hoc group oversaw the work and developed guidelines on geography, data integrity and data relevance to the Latino community. The goal of this group and the Blandin Foundation is to make this data readily available to all Minnesotans for all areas of Minnesota. H.A.C.E.R. at the University of Minnesota served as the fiscal agent for this project and also provided the technical staff which created the profiles. C.U.R.A. at the University of Minnesota provided technical assistance for mapping this data. We want to thank the members of the focus groups who provided input and the ad hoc committee whose volunteer efforts made these data products possible: Mario Hernandez, Rodolfo Gutierrez, Monica Garcia-Perez and Barbara J Ronningen. As time and funding allows, more data will be added to this section. Input on your use of these profiles, data that you would find useful and other comments on the data products is most appreciated.
