On June the 21-22, 2007, CLAC held its pilot community engagement visit in Worthington, Minnesota. This city in southwestern MN is home to the largest Latino community outside the Twin Cities metro area. During the visit, CLAC staff had the opportunity to meet with public service officials working in the fields of education and economic development. The visit also featured an extensive tour of Swift & Co.'s pork processing plant in Worthington, a major source of employment for the Latino community.

		Rosa Tock, CLAC's Legislative Director, reviews a report on Latino student enrollment sponsored by the Center for Rural Policy and Development and CLAC; Mr. Sys Phaly, Worthington's only Spanish- speaking Laotian teacher, takes notes.
